TESTIMONIALS AND TRIP ADVISOR REVIEWS

"Thank you, Daniela, for the trip of a lifetime: I watched fireworks on the Riviera on Bastille Day; ate focaccia oozing with olive oil in Genova; bought enough Italian cashmere yarn to keep me knitting cowls and stoles for years; had eight amazing days of tours and classes with Galina Khmeleva in the Tyrolean Alps and came home with an authentic Orenburg lace shawl; traveled the canals of Venice; toured museums, basilicas, art galleries, castles, glass and leather works; and ate luscious risotto, pasta and gelato! My daughter and I really appreciate the personalized service we received from you and the Alpine Adventure Agency as we traveled the French and Italian Riviera with our little tour, then joined the larger group of knitters and spouses in San Martino di Castrozza in the Alps to learn Orenburg lace techniques. We finished our trip in Venice, staying a few extra days, then we were whisked away via Mercedes by your private driver to Florence with door-to-door service to our next hotel. It was an absolutely fantastic trip and I can't wait to go back to Italy for another knitting adventure. -Mary"

"Daniela, I need to give you a huge THANK YOU for the amazing time we had in Venice. Words cannot describe how much fun the whole family had while touring your wonderful city. The kids have voted it the best city on our itinerary. Thanks mostly to YOU! Your insider knowledge of the city and your familiarity of the places made it fun and stress free.

We particularly loved the water taxis and all the hands on activities. The rowing lessons and the glass bead making was once in a lifetime opportunities that we will never forget. Thanks for going above and beyond to make our visit very special.

Thanks Again,

Randy and Family"

"I just finished the wonderful French and Italian Riviera Yarn Crawl and tour and the Italian Alps Knitting Workshop and can't say enough about how helpful Daniela and our driver were. Our hotel at Rapallo was right on the beach and was very accessable. Daniela really took everyone's condition, ability, and desires into consideration as she planned the tours, locations, and events.

If you have physical limitations or needs, make sure you are up front with Daniela about what you can and can't do. That way she can let you know if you can be accommodated.

We had a great tour of the Riviera, saw Monte Carlo, and visited some great yarn shops. Then we went up into the Alps, where we stayed at a lovely hotel built in the 1800's. We slept each night with our balcony door open and woke up looking at the most beautiful mountains.

Each day included a morning tour, then lunch, followed by our afternoon knitting workshop. We visited a cheese factory where we saw them make the region's cheese, ate samples, and bought cheese. We saw food demonstrations, weaving demonstrations, and wood carving. There was definitely something for everybody.

Some of the men went hiking while we were having our knitting workshops, and all were pleased with what we did, the knitting, and hotel, and food.

I would definitely recommend Daniela and her agency, I had a tremendous time, saw beautiful areas, and learned some new knitting techniques.  -Jean"

"Daniela,

Thanks for a great time! There are no words to adequately describe how we felt taking in the tremendous beauty and majesty of the Alps. Without you there is no way we would have experienced so many wonders  in so short a time.

We're now in Florence. We'll visit Pisa today.  But absolutely nothing can compare to what we saw and experienced in the Alps. I find G-d's wonders awe-inspiring. Man made wonders cannot compare-not even Michelangelo's David!

We all hope that one day we can come back again and spend more time.

Yvonne"

Daniela,

We finally got home this past Tuesday.  My favorite parts of the trip were San Martino with you, and the Almafi Coast...On our way home from Barcelona to Frankfurt, we flew over the Alps.  They were not as beautiful as the valleys we saw in the Dolomites...

You were a wonderful host for the few days we had in the mountains.  Everyone we met...felt like we knew them for years. The person who took us on the day drive...also made us feel we were a part of the area. We really wanted to get a sense of the people and the mountains, and you did that.  I feel like we're family, and like the song says, " I left my heart in San Martino".  Ed is just as happy with the days in the mountains as I am...

" Italian Alps-experience "

Trip advisor

We recently spent time in the Italian Alps. We flew into Venice and were driven the 1 1/2 hours to the Alps. I recommend this tour. We had a wonderful time. We were away from the heavily populated tourist areas yet all of our needs and expectations were met. The people could not have been nicer. We stayed in Fiera di Primiero but visited all the little ancient villages nearby. The food was great, the hotel very nice, the people exceedingly friendly and the alps spectacular. We stayed at the Hotel Tressane (see my review). Our tour was booked through the Alpine Adventure Agency. The owner Daniela, is Italian -American (grew up in the US but spent all her summers and many holidays in the Italian alps which are her roots). Thus was great for us because she not only served as a tour guide but as an interpreter for the language and the culture. She was very much aware of American needs and desires as well as the beauties and secrets of the Alps. Utilizing this knowledge she planned a trip that meet our needs precisely and gave us a wonderful experience. I highly recommend visiting the Italian alps. If we get to go again we would go to this same picturesque village.

"Beautiful mountain town"
San Martino di Castrozza

My husband and I had six days to visit San Martino di Castrozza in the Dolomites before leaving Venice on a Mediterranean cruise. Our goal was to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and meet the people to learn about the culture of the Italians who live in the Tyrolean area of the Dolomites. Daniela Anderson of Alpine Adventure Agency set up our tour and personally guided us to some of the most beautiful mountains and valleys we have ever seen. We visited centuries old villages, looked for Porcini mushrooms, hiked to glacier lakes, and saw vineyards and castles nestled in the mountains. The view from the top of Sass Pordoi, overlooking one of the valley's, was spectacular.

The hotels in San Martino are lovely. We stayed at Hotel Maso Col, a small hotel with views of the mountains in all directions. The restaurant at Maso Col was excellent as were the accommodations. We were never disappointed with any of the restaurants we visited. San Martino is a year-round resort town. It has skiing in the winter and beautiful hiking and sightseeing in the summer and fall. We hope to return one day to this gem in the Dolomites.
