HANDSPINNING WITH DANIELA DURING OUR FIBER SUMMIT SERIES ABROAD (FSSA) EVENTS.
Daniela Anderson, organizer of our FSSA events and owner of the Alpine Adventure Agency, is a past presenter/ lecturer at The Manning's annual Spinning Day, as well as a frequent handspinning/ fiber arts demonstrator and teacher at various historical venues, schools, children's camps, and fiber events in and around Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. She has been involved in the past as the time-keeper for the legendary Pennsylvania Sheep to Shawl competition and her handspun entries have ribboned in the skein competition at MDSW (Maryland Sheep and Wool). On a very quirky note, Daniela also has won the distinction of longest single spun over 30 seconds blindfolded and with baggies on her hands at the annual spin-in at MDSW!
An Ashford Joy, a modern traveling wheel, is available for your enjoyment during your dream workshop vacations with us. In 2009, this wheel made its way to the top of cable cars to the highest peaks, to high moutain malge (mountain dairy huts), over a glacier, into meadows full of cows serenading us with tinkling cowbells, and a variety of other exotic locations. You may bring your own fibers, or buy a variety of prepared rovings of various kinds (dyed and natural, combed and carded) including pure angora from Daniela's own German, French and Satin Angora bunnies in a variety of colors including blue and lilac. Daniela will be available to teach handspinning during any of our events. Please contact her for details. |
